FITCREWS

Fitcrews are intended to bring actively aligned people together. Small group training alongside peers with similar goals and level of conditioning increases individual motivation and accountability. This group mindset leads to greater results than if you trained on your own.

Kelowna Fit provides a free online “Crew Club” as a place to bring your fitcrew together or find a fitcrew who’s members share similar goals and level of fitness conditioning.

As part of our free service, Rachel will seed all the fitcrews with weekly and monthly Fit Missions and Challenges. These activities are intended to inspire your group to get together in person outdoors in Kelowna or complete the activities on your own but discuss & motivate in your online forum.

When your fitcrew is ready to follow a more organized and personalized program, your ficrew can GO PRO and choose one of three PRO options.

EVOLUTION ONE: Rachel starts your fitcrew with a functional movement assessment and based on her evaluation her initial program design focuses on painfree, full range of motion movement.

CORE STRENGTH

EVOLUTION TWO: Rachel’s workouts advance into core strength and stability training to prevent injury and increase program success.

CARDIO CAPACITY

EVOLUTION THREE: She increases the intensity of the workouts by advancing to plyometrics, agility training and speed drills.

ADVANCED MOVEMENT

EVOLUTION FOUR: Rachel builds on evolution one but with greater intensity and difficulty, moving your fitcrew to advanced functional exercises that engage your full kinetic chain and coordinate muscles to maximum effect.

POWER TRAINING

EVOLUTION FIVE: Strength at speed! She increases the intensity by combining concepts and exercises of evolutions three and four into a full body power progression.

SPECIFICITY TRAINING

EVOLUTION SIX: Rachel narrows the focus of the training to reaching a specific objective. This could be a goal your fitcrew started with but often the goal post moves as your fitness increases throught the evolutions.

EVOLUTION SEVEN: Your fitcrew crosses the finish line together and performs the activity that achieves the ultimate objective.

The Crew Club is a unique, private online forum for members to find a fitcrew, form a fitcrew or explore topics that are pertinant to local fitness and nutrition.

It’s free to create Crew Club and add a fitcrew. Organize and train with your fitcrew for free for as long as you want. When your fitcrew is ready to advance your training  through out 7 Evolutions to Results and reach fitcrew objective together, you can GO PRO. PRO fitcrews can schedule Rachel once or twice a week for live virtual or in person outdoor training.

FIT MISSIONS

A fit mission is a series of fitness activities that your Fit Pro Rachel will give your fitcrew each month. Your crew can decide to complete each part of the mission together or independently. The aim here is to provide you with seeds of inspiration to get your fitcrew moving every week and discovering new fitness possibilities all over Kelowna.

A fit mission may include a specific workout using features found in waterfront park such as low walls, steep hillsides and short steps, as well as completing a specific hike and a walk. We want to take you out of your routine and shake things up a bit and give your fitcrew something to talk about.

 

CHALLENGES

We will be giving out monthly challenges, an activity for your fitcrew to accomplish. Challenges are different than Fit Missions in that they are one activity that you will improve upon and set a new a crew record in. An example would be if your fastest time up the Knox Apex Trail Climb was 36 minutes your challenge would be to do it in under 35 minutes.

Challenges help us reach our ultimate objectives by increasing the intensity of activities that our bodies have become accustomed to. This is an important part of improving cardiovascular conditioning and overall health while doing activities that you already love doing. 

OBJECTIVES

Your fitcrew missions and challenges should ultimately be moving you towared reaching periodic objectives. These could be physical like your fitcrew losing a combined 22lbs in a month or aspirational like running in and finishing a 5K, 10K or full marathon. Objectives are accomplishments along the way to getting you to where you want to be. The fact is, we should always be imporving so objectives will always be an integral part of your training program. An objective should be something big though like a hike that you want to accomplish but is intimidating, a racing distance that seems out of reach to you right now or a physical feat that you aspire to be able to do. Objectives are important achievements along your path to great health.
